Candle Burning Safety
At Midwest Grace - commitment to candle safety starts with the ingredients used.
Each component is carefully selected to ensure that our products are both safe and effective.
Each candle is hand-poured in small batches to ensure consistency and quality.
Candles are meant to be enjoyed, but it is important that you follow some common-sense safety rules when burning them.
These rules will help you achieve the best burn possible with your candles, too!
-
NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.
-
Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep.
-
We recommend burning for a maximum of 4 hours each time you enjoy your candle.
-
Follow the 2-foot rule. Don't place a burning candle within 2 feet of clothing, books, curtains, or other flammable objects.
-
Keep lit candles away from drafts, ceiling fans, and any air currents. This keeps the flame burning steadily in the center of the candle.
-
Trim the wick to ¼” before every burn. This helps prevent the flame from getting too large, and cuts down on any excess soot or black smoke.
-
Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
-
Extinguish a candle if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.
-
When burning multiple candles at once, always place them at least 3 inches apart from each other.
-
A burning candle should never be used as a nightlight. Always extinguish any lit candles before going to sleep.
-
A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time, exceeding this could cause safety issues.
